The PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER will support the functions of the Nursing Department while working in either a long-term care or retirement setting. The PSW is responsible for providing assistance with the activities of daily living for our Residents, this includes but is not limited to:

bathing, toileting, feeding, personal grooming, escorting, cleaning and other duties as assigned

As a PSW, you will ensure Residents receive excellent care services by increasing their comfort, independence and control in all aspects of their care

You will provide friendly, courteous and attentive service, in keeping with our organizational values, mission and vision

Job Requirements

Personal Support Worker certificate, required

Grade 12 diploma, preferred

Minimum two (2) years of Personal Support Worker experience in long-term care, preferred

Excellent attention to detail when assessing and documenting

Ability to follow a care plan with minimal supervision

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to meet the increasingly complex needs of the Residents

Good attendance record and punctuality

Ability to work effectively as a team member

Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position:

push/pull up-to 250 lbs

lifting 50 lbs max

working at/above shoulder height

standing & walking for long periods of time

frequent bending, twisting, reaching, crouching

National Event Assistant

Location: Toronto, ON

Lawn Summer Nights is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join their team to support the delivery and coordination of the annual Lawn Summer Nights event, in support of Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

The bulk of our workload happens during the months of June & July, so the position will be more demanding during that time. The Intern duties will include but are not limited to

Direct support on National projects including:

National marketing campaigns and social media

Executing the communication strategy for the summer

Data & CRM management o Finance management

Assisting with national administrative duties, responding to email requests, providing technical support, etc.

Direct event support to national Event Leads by assisting with:

Securing local sponsors

Securing photographers

Working with the National Manager to align local social media strategies with national

Support with local communications and newsletter templates

Support in obtaining liquor licences

Support with event logistics

Assist with volunteer recruitment

Manage volunteer database and support with volunteer communications and recognition programs

Assisting Toronto Event Lead with day of event support on location (location TBD based on need each week), helping with set up/tear down, event management, and ultimately creating the LSN experience

LSN web support (non-technical):

Running registration and fundraising reports

All other duties as assigned

The Terms:

Part Time April 1 - May 31: 10 hours per week

Full time June 3 - August 2: 35 hours per week

Part Time August 5 - August 30: 10 hours per week

Location: Remote, with some on-site meetings at Yonge/Eglinton office

Must be able to attend Toronto LSN events, Thursday nights in July at West Toronto Lawn Bowling Club and Leaside Lawn Bowling Club (alternating weeks)

Ideally, the National Event Assistant will be able to attend the City Lead Retreat March 29th & 30th, 9am – 8pm Friday, 10am – 5pm Saturday, in Toronto

The Marketing Assistant will provide support based on marketing day-to-day activities.
