We are looking for a passionate and talented video editor to create trailers and cut short videos for a wide variety of projects that include comic books, video games, board games & short animated stories.

Your Expertise

Proven ability to capture an audience through the editing of shorts films & trailers, demonstrated by your portfolio submission

You have strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (especially After Effects and Premiere)

You will be responsible for post-production tasks including reviewing footage, rough cuts, audio adjustment, colour correction, and final editing using Adobe Premiere Pro

You have a deep understanding of fundamental visual design disciplines such as composition, colour, layout, typography, etc.

You can problem solve in all aspects of video production, including technical and content issues

Possess a strong sense of storytelling and rhythm, as well as colour grading, music and audio

Job Requirements

You pride yourself on your ability to adapt your style to the demands of each new project

You are able to work in a team environment while also being able to complete tasks with minimal supervision

Administrative Co-ordinator    

Location: North York, ON

Job Profile / Duties / Responsibilities:

Assist with the design and implement office policies, establishment of standards and procedures, and organization of office operations and procedures

Assist with set up, execution and tear down at festivals and events as required

Herbarium Intern

Format the herbarium’s specimen data exports in DwC-A

Upload the specimen data to Canadensys

Automate exports to be DwC-A compatible

Contribute to the herbarium database, including entering, updating, and refining data and maintaining accurate records

Produce herbarium labels

Troubleshoot database and digitisation issues

Assist in botanical specimen collection, identification, and curation in RBG’s herbarium, an important natural history collection

Assist with botanical surveys in RBG’s nature sanctuaries and garden areas [over 2,400 acres of nature sanctuaries, and 250 acres of cultivated garden properties]

Participate in invasive species research

Assist in training and supervising herbarium volunteers and students

Assist in the development of communications for both scientific and lay audiences

Job Requirements

Education Requirements The successful candidate will have recently graduated with a post-secondary degree or diploma in a field relevant to botany, data management, or museum studies. [Master’s Degree would be considered an asset]

Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) is seeking an Herbarium Intern with the following knowledge and skills:

Strong computer skills, particularly with spreadsheets and databases

Proven experience with record keeping and data organization

Experience with collections management software [e.g. BG-Base®] or database management would be an asset

An understanding of plant nomenclature and taxonomy

Some knowledge of flora in Eastern North America

Experience using taxonomic keys
