TORONTO. - If you have ever listened to me, you know that I have been saying (until I'm blue in the face) that lacrosse on all levels need to stop keeping the greatest secret on the face of the earth, and let the world see "the fastest game on two feet".  With all the social media, and cable channels available, surely someone or something could put this sport in the public eye.

The Marketing:

A number of ideas had been tried, some successful, some not successful.  The big thing was using pay per view sites and apps, with season subscriptions available.  For the hardcore fan, this was an excellent option, and as technology improved, do did the broadcast feeds and presentations as well.  These ideas would only solidify the already established bases for teams, not really grabbing the new fan.  Someone not knowing the game wouldn't be willing to pay money blindly to watch a sport they may or may not like.

Lacrosse doesn't have near the advertising revenue of Major League Baseball, Hockey, Basketball, or Football, who could afford to give their games to the public for free, allowing maximum exposure of their teams, players, and the game itself.  The game needed to earn revenue off pay per view...but there had to be an answer to solve their dilemma of getting exposure to new fans.

Finally:

Leagues like the Premier Lacrosse League, and now the National Lacrosse League have realized that free television combined with pay sites or apps were the way to earn, but also include getting new people to see the game.  Having a game of the week on cable, and/or Twitter would allow places like pubs to show the game, as well as channel surfers to flip on something interesting.  This would expose many more to the game, eventually growing the leagues fan bases.

What about Semi-Professional leagues:

We've talked about the professional leagues ad nauseum, but what about Junior leagues, and feeder leagues like the Arena Lacrosse League?  Without these leagues, where would players go to develop their skills to get ready for the next level?  These leagues need exposure as well.

ZingoTV and Spanglish World Networks:

This past week history was made. A deal between the Baltimore Indoor Lacrosse League, and Premier Series Lacrosse with ZingoTV and Spanglish World Networks was agreed upon.  Zingo and Spanglish will be broadcasting these games internationally on their media platforms.   Larry Fila, Commissioner of these leagues sat down with John Estiva, co-founder of ZingoTV, and Eduardo Harari, co-founder of Spanglish World Networks, and were able to make this dream a reality.

From the men involed:

"We are very excited to be part of this growing sport and this partnership with Larry Fila and B.I.L.L is a no-brainer for ZIngoTV".

-John Estiva, Co-Founder, and COO of ZIngoTV.

"We welcome the opportunity to join this great venture and to be part of this evolving sport. Joining the partnership with Larry Fila of B.I.L.L and expanding our working relationship with Zingo TV is a no-brainer for Spanglish World Networks".

-Eduardo Harari, Co-Founder, and CEO of Spanglish World Networks Inc.

"We could not be more excited for the players and box lacrosse fans around the world to share the B.I.L.L. and grow this great game. We are looking forward to this partnership with ZingoTV and Spanglish World Networks, the possibilities are endless. PLAY MORE BOX!!!"

-Larry Fila, President of Baltimore Indoor Lacrosse League, LLC

President, and Co-Founder of Premier Series Lacrosse, Ltd.

Stay tuned, this is only scratching the surface!  ZingoTV, and Spanglish World Networks have more deals in the works with different lacrosse organizations throughout North America, and the near future looks to be an exciting time for all involved.

Finally, the secret is getting out, and many will find out what we already know...Lacrosse is the fastest game on two feet, where they sell you the whole seat, but you'll only need the edge!
