Festival Volunteers assist in a variety of roles in the following areas:
Theatre venues:

With eight venues in operation, this is where the majority of support is required
Industry Centre:

We’re looking for an experienced Content and Localization Manager who will join our Content Marketing Team to help manage the translation and localization of Shopify’s marketing content and product into Spanish, both for Latin America and Spain. You’ll be a strategic partner to other marketing and product teams and help maintain and scale our Spanish localization efforts. You’re a seasoned translation and localization professional who can help us drive growth and merchant success by localizing our content marketing program and managing software localization into Spanish across Shopify. You'll Need To Have
• Spanish mother tongue
• 3+ years of professional translation and localization experience, ideally with software localization, or translation/review experience for technology companies
• Proven experience translating, transcreating, copywriting, localizing and reviewing content that transfers the original intent and meaning of the source material without coming across as a translation
• BA/BS or equivalent 4-year university degree
• Translation, Linguistics, Interpretation, similar field of study or proven translation/localization experience. MA preferred but not required
• An obsession with understanding our Spanish-speaking merchants and their world

You'll Get To Do Things Like
• Create and manage Shopify's editorial calendar for our Spanish blog, being accountable for audience growth and customer acquisition

• Research, interview, write, edit and/or review blog posts and other content, such as ebooks, case studies, guides, guest blog posts, social media posts, and other market-specific assets, as needed
• Create content strategies to drive growth in Spanish-speaking countries
• Act as the center of excellence for language quality, voice, style and brand internationalization in the target language, conducting quality assurance for all localized content and product to ensure consistent messaging and proper functionality
• Develop and maintain key relationships with external vendors, both for the blog (freelance writers and translators, guest contributors) and for product localization (freelance translators and translation agencies)
• Fully onboard external vendors, regularly communicate with them to align and calibrate language, style and terminology, and maintain strong working relationships
• Clarify quality expectations and maintain/optimize quality control processes
• Continue to build, onboard and manage a roster of freelancers, as needed
• Develop and maintain key relationships with internal Shopify teams
