Ver másNYCFC Score 6 For The First Time; Crush DC United
New York. - Yogi Berra is credited with the phrase “90 percent of the game is half mental.” Witticism aside, there's much to be said about that line as it took the Gents in Blue exactly 35 seconds to score the game winner in last night's match against division rival DC United last night on route to a crushing 6-0 win to vault themselves into 5th place in the East with 3 matches remaining. This was one of those matches where literally everything went right; from 3 goals in the first 11 minutes to a clean sheet on a largely untested Sean Johnson to 6 goals in a match for the first time ever.
Ver másThe Making of the Wooden Lacrosse Stick
TORONTO. - Looking at the history and tradition of the game, I thought this week we would look at the process of making the wooden lacrosse stick. All the love, effort, and craftsmanship that makes a quality stick. In the modern game, we have gotten used to everyone using plastic sticks, manufactured by machine, but still strung by hand, but that wasn't the lineage that the game came from. From the beginning of the Creator's game, it was always wooden sticks used, created by talented men such as Alfie Jacques.
Ver más509 Minute Scoring Drought Over, NYCFC Comes Away With Tie In Atlanta
New York. - It took an unseemly 509 minutes across 6 matches (including 4 straight shut outs) but the Gents in Blue finally scored a goal to force a 1-1 tie on the road against division rival Atlanta. For much of this match, it absolutely appeared that NYCFC would be shut out again, now for a 5th straight time, until the 90th minute when midfielder Gudmundur Thórarinsson's free kick sailed past Goalie Brad Guzan for an unbridled team sigh of relief. “I hope so.” was coach Ronny Deila’s response if this goal will lighten the pressure off the team going into their home match against 7th place DC United this Saturday; a match they need to win if they hope to stay in the playoff hunt.
