TORONTO. -Last night on a special episode of BarnBurner LIVE on Frequency5FM, Aron Stevens, formerly Damien Sandow in the WWE, officially announced that he’ll be coming out of retirement and make his long awaited return to pro wrestling this Saturday at Battle Arts Pro Wrestling’s show at the Don Kolov Arena, located at Battle Arts Academy in Mississauga, Ontario.
Aron took a break from pro wrestling two-and-a-half years ago in order to pursue his aspirations in acting, which has been quite successful thus far; he appeared in multiple episodes of NBC’s Midnight, Texas, while also entertaining his fans with his shows on the BarnBurner radio network.
During the announcement that was exclusive to BarnBurner, Aron mentioned that his new name will be The Dao and that his goal at the end of the day is “to fix this broken generation.”
It’ll be exciting to see Aron back in the ring again. His provided fans with many great memories during his time in WWE as the intellectual savior of the masses Damien Sandow, and as The Miz’s stunt double Damien Mizdow. The former Money in the Bank winner will be stepping in the ring with an up and comer, so fans will be eager to see how well he does against an established wrestler like The Dao.
BarnBurner founder Joe Peisich was excited when Aron broke the news that he will be making his in-ring return:
“Our BarnBurner fam is thrilled to learn that Aron will making a return to the ring.”
I asked Aron what factored in his decision to return to pro wrestling after being away for the past two years and he alluded to this new generation of wrestlers:
“I just think a lot of competitors today will call them really really it just for lack of a better word it pissed me off. The entitlement…just how they conducted themselves and everybody is running around on their cell phone…I mean nobody is looking up, it’s no fun…and just thinking that the world owes them something.”
The full episode as well as all past episodes with BarnBurner founder Joe Peisich, Living in the Now host Julie Hinton-Green, and broadcasting legend Stormin’ Norm Rumack are available on Frequency5FM’s Facebook page.
