TORONTO. – This was a very strange week of action in the NFL with some surprises that arose.

San Francisco vs. Washington

The rain in Washington can’t dull the 49rs shine, as they remain undefeated in the season and improve to 6 – 0 (for the third time in franchise history). Although it wasn’t the prettiest of games, neither team scoring a touchdown, San Francisco took the win with three field goals by Gould for an end score of 9–0.

Miami vs. Buffalo

The dolphins looked as if they showed up to win leaving Buffalo fans a little nervous, as Miami not only took a lead going into the half but held the lead in the second half. That is until Buffalo rallied in the 4th quarter and added 22 points to the score board to walk away with the win 31-21, Miami remains winless in the season.

Houston vs. Indianapolis

The Colts utilized their passing game to get the edge in their 30-23 victory against the Houston Texans. While the score shows Houston didn’t just roll over and give them the win, ultimately the Texans defense was unable to stop the Colts from an important win, which placed them at the top of the AFC South.

Minnesota vs. Detroit

While receiver Adam Thielen caught the first touchdown pass for Minnesota to tie the game at 7-7, he went down with a hamstring injury that would take him out of the game. Minnesota’s offense continued to push and take a great lead; however, the Lions would not be counted out cutting the lead to 5 points, but the defense could not get the ball back for the offence. Vikings Dalvin Cook scored a final touchdown for the game assisting his team in a 42-30 win.

Jacksonville vs. Cincinnati

The Jaguars move to a 3-4 record, as they took the win again the Bengals. Jacksonville defense got to work getting three picks in the second half, including a game deciding pick six by Yannick Ngakoue and added a fumble recovery, sealing the deal to the tune of 27-17.

Los Angeles Rams vs.  Atlanta

The L.A. Rams along with new addition Jalen Ramsey trampled the Falcons in a 37-10 win. After only two practices with his new team Ramsey seemed to fit right in and got to business; much of the game head to head with Julio Jones, also forcing one fumble. The score speaks for itself when it comes to Atlanta’s defense, which is clearly still struggling.

Arizona vs. New York Giants

Close in power rankings Arizona (23) and New York (25), kept the score close too, and these rankings proved to hold true to the game results. Arizona slipping through with a 27-21 final score, in which their defense sacked QB Daniel Jones eight times and forced three turnovers.

Oakland vs. Green Bay

Oakland’s defensive line simply put – was not enough to stop Aaron Rodgers and company. The QB posted a perfect 158.3 passer rating (also the franchise’s first), throwing for 429 yards and five touchdowns, and while he was at it rushing himself for the other score. Cheese heads were loving the 42-24 result!

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Tennessee

The final moments of this game became a real head scratcher on just how oddly the Chargers can loose. Three replay reviews in the final minute took away two touchdowns, both proving to be just short of the line and the third granting the Titans a fumble recovery. Thus, giving the Titans a 23-20 win.

New Orleans vs. Chicago

Despite being without Drew Brees the Saints pull out another W, taking the Bears 36-25. The Saints had a big upper hand for most of the game with Chicago getting two late touchdowns to tighten the score differential. The Saints remain at the top of the NFC South with a 6-1 record.

Baltimore vs. Seattle

Homefield advantage did not end up helping the Seahawks against the Ravens this week. The Ravens’ Marcus Peters handed Russell Wilson his first interception of the season, which Peters went on to return 67 yards for a touchdown. While Lamar Jackson ran 13 times within the choosing of plays, one of which put his name in the touchdown column, and ultimately gave the Ravens a 30-16 win.

Philadelphia vs. Dallas

Dallas ended their three-game losing streak with a 37-10 victory over the Eagles. Dak Prescott stated post game “…we started fast and we finished strong”. Philadelphia had two turnovers in the first quarter which the Cowboys were able to convert into touchdowns and held pace throughout the rest of the game.
